Did you know that in La Mola, besides the famous Mol\u00ed Vell<\/a>, there is another windmill? It is an old flour mill that has not yet been recovered and that maintains its charm and impatiently awaits the work that will restore it to its full splendor.<\/p>\n

<\/span>History of Mol\u00ed d’en Botigues<\/span><\/h2>\n

The Mol\u00ed d’en Botigues was the last of Formentera’s mills to enter service. It is documented that it was put into operation in 1893, a few meters away from the best known mill of Formentera, the Mol\u00ed Vell de la Mola.<\/p>\n

The mill stopped grinding grain in 1950. At that time the antennas were dismantled but the roof was kept, and since then it has been abandoned.<\/p>\n

<\/span>Mill in recovery process<\/span><\/h3>\n

The Mol\u00ed d’en Botigues is somewhat deteriorated and the Consell de Formentera apparently does not want this mill to disappear. For this reason, and in order to ensure that all the parts of the mill that are still preserved do not end up being corrupted, the restoration of the mill has already begun, working closely with the owners of the land where it is located.<\/p>\n
