The Punta Gavina diving spot is a dive that can be done with either PADI Open Water certification or Advanced Open Water certification if you want to explore deeper areas.
The Punta Gavina dive is located halfway between the dives at El Arco and the Cuevas de Punta Rasa dives, so diving schools usually do two of these three dives on the same trip.
What is diving at Punta Gavina like?
The dive at Punta Gavina begins on a flat platform at a shallow depth of about 8 meters, then approaches the edge of the platform, where you descend vertically down the wall for an additional 10 meters to a depth of 18 to 20 meters. This depth would be the limit for Open Water divers. This underwater wall has many interesting nooks and crannies, and there are always interesting creatures to be found.
When you reach the foot of the underwater wall (at a depth of around 18 or 20 meters), there are no more slopes and you will find yourself in a huge meadow of posidonia with large scattered rocks.
