The first option and the one used by the vast majority of visitors arriving to Formentera is through Ibiza airport. Ibiza airport is an airport open to international traffic, which means that it receives passengers from all over Europe. Therefore, arriving to Formentera through Ibiza airport is the option chosen by most people.

Let’s take a look at both options so you can choose the one that suits you best.

As we have said, this is the option chosen by most visitors arriving to Formentera.

In this case, you will have to make the journey in 3 steps, which are as follows:

  1. Arriving by plane to Ibiza
  2. Getting from Ibiza airport to the Ibiza ferry station

Below we will explain the options you have to move from the airport to the maritime station of Ibiza and then the options available to you in terms of shipping companies and ferries operating the line Ibiza – Formentera.

First: Arrival at Ibiza airport

If you land in Ibiza in high season you will surely encounter some crowds: Ibiza’s airport handles around 2 million travelers every year, so in high season it can be a bit overwhelming.

Once outside the airport, you will have to get to the maritime station: both cabs and buses are right in front of the terminal, so it is up to you to choose one or the other option.

Second: to move from the airport to Ibiza’s Maritime Station.
