Those who have been on the island the longest say that the name Piratabus came from the first beach bar that opened in the area: taking advantage of a broken down bus that had been abandoned in that place.
Right now the Piratabus still maintains that rebellious spirit but in a proper kiosk .

If there is one thing the Piratabus is known for today, it is its delicious mojitos. Although the coast of Migjorn faces south, and therefore you cannot see the sun disappear over the horizon of the sea, many people still go to the Pirtabus (and many other kiosk beach bars in Formentera) to enjoy the sunset.
Located on the beach of Es Arenals
The beach of Es Arenals is one of the most crowded of all Migjorn and also of all Formentera. For that reason the Piratabus is usually quite crowded, especially during peak hours on high season days.
