Racó Fondo Beach (Bluebar)
This area of Migjorn beach does not have a specific name, so we have used the typical toponymy of Migjorn. Many people also know it as “the beach where the Bluebar is”.
Description of Es Racó Fondo de Migjorn
Es Racó Fondo or simply Racó Fondo is the longest beach of the whole Migjorn coast. It is a dune beach in an excellent state of preservation, wide, easily accessible from several places and with several kiosks/bars and beach restaurants that are among the most interesting of the island.
It is very wide – in some places up to 20 meters – and a wooden walkway next to the dunes connects the different areas of the sandy area in order to avoid walking on the scorching sand.
Like being in Illetas without being in Illetas
Es Racó Fondo is very similar in appearance to the two larger beaches of Illetas. Not in vain is it, as are the beaches of Illetas, a dune beach that the island of Formentera has managed to preserve perfectly.
Walkways and fences protect the dunes and the fragile vegetation that grows on them from being trampled by bathers and vacationers. The differences with Illetas are that Migjorn faces south and the beach is more exposed to the open sea with no easily visible shallow reefs.
Access to the beach of Es Racó Fondo
Since the beach is very extensive there are several accesses to it, depending on the area to which we want to go. If we have already parked we can always move around the sandy area comfortably through the wooden walkways installed on the perimeter of the sandy area.
